Due to all his issues, we didn't think Oreo was going to live to celebrate his first birthday. He did though, and I dutifully captured the day.
This became a tradition, and in subsequent birthdays I tried to celebrate the day with little crowns, which Betty called "funny hats".
He would put up with me trying to balance them on his head.
Sometimes the crown just wouldn't stay, but I'd take a picture anyway.
He was given a particularly decorative one for his 10th. I try to feed him a special dinner to help make up for the indignity.
As you can see, he's thrilled.
